Geoff has a trade and business background and is a family man at heart. He has been widowed and re-married and now shares 6 adult children and 11 grandchildren and understands the complexities and joys of blended family life.
He’s had a heart for men’s well-being for around 20 years and has co-led various men’s retreats and father son camps, both in Tasmania, interstate and overseas.
Geoff has an incredibly organic way of drawing out wisdom and a gentle way of disarming vulnerability allowing conversation and story for others to be authentic and share honestly.
Chairman: Gary Lottering

Gary has over 20 years of experience in the corporate sector at an executive management level. He is passionate about fostering and mentoring people so that they can perform at their highest capacity through a consultative management style that empowers optimum performance and delivers excellent outcomes.
Gary has a broad understanding and experience of the roles and duties of Directors having served on NFP boards in the past both as an Executive and non-Executive Director. Through his life experiences, Gary knows the power and necessity of strong connections within a safe place and the importance of making time for the contemplative journey to navigate life better. Gary throws curve balls into conversation and has a way of challenging thinking process that bring helpful and practical outcomes to people’s lives. His journey in learning to pause and let go in the ‘busy-ness’ of life has lead him to a life of unanticipated adventure in his travels and interactions.
Secretary: Gray Douglas

Gray has worked in the finance industry and in property management. His caring and serving heart ensures he is a safe person, especially in the sexual abuse arena. His experience and empathy are broad, his wisdom profound and sincerity deep.
Gray’s story and intersection with DirectionsTas has been and continues to be life giving in the group weekly meetings. He loves the transformational journey that the men’s work involves, both for him and for those around him. Home is where the heart is and ten minutes with Gray is a place to call home.
Treasurer: Glenn Ferguson

Glenn is a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Glenn and his wife have encouraged many young adults on their journey in so many practical and supportive ways.
Glenn’s expertise lies in the IT and telecommunications sectors. He’s our “go to” tech head and can be relied on to keep our books in order.
Glenn, also a co-founder of Directions Tas, has been doing men’s work for 20 years and always finds time and space when guys need it most.
His journey with music has been an incredible place and space of connection with others.
Privacy Officer: Philip Harback

Phil is the founder and past CEO of DirectionsTas. He has been married for 49 years with 3 children and 6 grandchildren and knows the joys of family life well.
Now retired, he has had an industry and business background with National Chair experience for his industry body.
Personal business loss led Phil on a search to understand grief, pain and loss and do some serious work on his interior journey. Also, having a counselling background has enabled Phil to work alongside hundreds of men during the last 30 years.
He was a strong voice for men at the National 12 Point Plan for Men’s Wellbeing submitted to Federal Parliament in 2003.
His deep connection with many men’s stories has coauthored transformative outcomes that will ripple through generations. Phil is a friend, a brother and a father to many journeying men and sons.
Past CEO: Phil Francis

Phil is a co-founder of DirectionsTas, a giant in his physique with a heart to match in men’s work across Tasmania, particularly throughout the construction industry.
His ability to draw out the true self in anyone is exceptional. He has presented at various workshops, retreats and father son camps, both here and interstate.
Married with two adult children his heart for family and community engagement has led to his enormous popularity and notoriety. Currently journeying through a life-threatening cancer hasn’t inhibited his love for others in their journey to be the best versions of themselves. There is a richness and presence about Phil that is inescapable.
Committee: John Schramm

John carries a heart for men that overflows into his everyday life. John’s experiences in life, his story and his passion for bird life is contagious. As a grandfather he ensures the imaginations of his grandchildren are alive and well.
He has many of interstate contacts that he’s regularly doing “check ins” with. He resides in Port Lincoln SA and the highlight of his week in running his “shed nights” in the backyard, for local blokes to connect, share and be encouraged. A thousand kilometres is just down the road for John. A farmer all his life, John knows how to engage with men in a way that means the most. John leaves something of the shape of himself in everyone he meets.
